I really just haven't felt like blogging lately! I have been so busy at work, and so tired on my days off, that typing stuff up is really the last thing I've wanted to do. I haven't kept up with my pregnancy journal either, but I don't love it, so that's not a surprise!
Anyways - I feel like I've done nothing but work for the last few weeks, but that's not entirely true. Carl and I went with my parents for a long weekend to Williamsburg, VA. The highlight for me was Busch Gardens, even though I couldn't ride anything good!! My parents rode one roller-coaster, but Carl was grateful for my not asking to go on every upside-down, inside-out ride! We had fun, but I was getting so tired so easily that towards the end of the weekend I wasn't much fun!
I've slacked on the belly pictures - only taking one so far. I was almost 7 weeks in this picture.

I'm now almost 9 weeks (8 weeks 6 days). I really should take another picture. I'm noticing little changes in my stomach. Bloat doesn't go away as easily as it did a couple weeks ago, and I'm starting to notice some growth. :) It's all very exciting! I've busted out the maternity jeans a few times, and the bella band once or twice, but luckily the scrubs I wear on a regular basis are very forgiving! On my days off I try my best to stay in sweats, or I pull on a dress if I'm heading out. Granted my regular clothes were already a little tight, but they REALLY are now!
We had our first doctor's appointment a week ago - actually with a midwife. I've known this midwife for about 10 years, and she's known my mom way longer than that. It was so nice to have her for our first big appointment! Everything sounded fine with the exam, no problems, I'm doing everything I should be. But the exciting part was the ultrasound. I tried to go in without any expectations. I thought it would be unlikely, but I tried to tell myself it was possible that nothing was there. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with that! I couldn't see the heartbeat as easily as I had with our last pregnancy, but Janice found it immediately!! Our little Spud looks so good!
I feel bad comparing, but I feel like I need to for my sanity. Spud was measuring a day ahead of my dates, which is always a good sign! Our last baby was measuring nearly a week behind, something that didn't seem so bad at first (as long as it's within a week you're okay they say), but looking back, it wasn't good. Anyways, our Spud is nice and big!! And it's heartrate is nice and high!! 164 bpm already! I was very excited to hear that!

Thanks to my history, we get to go back Thursday for another ultrasound. I truly don't think anything will be wrong, and it will be exciting to see the Spud again! Then I'll have to wait a whole 2 1/2 weeks before my next doctors appt!! Crazy! I know it will fly by, and it's hard to believe that that doctor's appt will be the last day of my first trimester!!
