Wow - I knew I hadn't updated in a while, but I totally forgot that I hadn't blogged about Christmas yet! Oops! I guess it wasn't too long ago!
Evelyn had a very nice Christmas. She did pretty well with all the hussle & bussle, but I could tell she didn't really know what we were getting her into! We had 4 days of going here, there, and everywhere, so by Christmas day, she was D-O-N-E!
Both my mom and Carl's mom had to work over Christmas, so we spread Christmas out a bit. On the 23rd, we went to my parents' for an early "Christmas Eve" celebration. Evelyn enjoyed playing with her *old* toys, and every so often looked interested in some wrapping paper. Aunt Laurie got her some need foam shape stackers, that she really loved chewing on and throwing everywhere. Haha! But Evelyn did well staying up late, hanging out with her uncles, and then fell asleep in the car. (and even stayed asleep when I moved her to the crib!)
On Christmas Eve morning, we went to my grandparents' house for brunch with my cousins. It was fun, and Evelyn was the center of attention. Tayler, my 5 year old cousin, wanted Evelyn to play with her so badly! It was very cute! Tayler did take E for a ride in the Barbie Jeep, so I think she was happy!
But it was very tiring for Evelyn, she (again) slept in the car on the way home, and stayed asleep for almost 2 hours. Of course, she woke up right about the time we were getting in the car to go to Mass! Haha!
Mass.... hmmmm.... I thought I was being good by getting there 45 minutes early for Children's Mass. I thought "Oh, it's Children's Mass, we don't have to sit in the cry room! Yay!" 45 minutes early, and the only seats were... in the cry room! Oh well. I figured Evelyn was used to it, so probably a good idea. Except it's cold. And the speakers didn't work so well. And Evelyn just wanted to be walking! Not so easy in the back corner of the cry room. We tried bottle, snacks, iPhone, books, EVERYTHING, and poor girl was over it. So we snuck out a little early. E was much happier to be able to move around, walking all over the place, for the 10 minutes before we strapped her back in the carseat (with some protests!), to head to Carl's parents for dinner!

Evelyn did very well at Christmas Eve dinner. She let us all eat and talk, and didn't get too fiesty! :) After dinner, we started opening presents. The first thing E got was a push toy that she could walk behind. For the girl who was so upset because she couldn't walk around all day, it was perfect! While the rest of us opened gifts and chit-chatted, Evelyn strolled the house with her toy. It was too funny! She really enjoyed it (and still does! She goes after that thing first thing in the morning!).
We took things easy Christmas morning. Evelyn opened her stocking when she woke up, then we had breakfast, and opened more gifts. Evelyn was more interested in her old toys, but I figured that would be the case! She took her time opening a little at a time, then going and playing for a while, before she decided she wanted to play with the paper again!
We had all of our siblings and dads over for Christmas lunch, since the moms were working. We all had a good time, and everyone hung out for a while talking. Carl and I and our siblings all went to the same high school, so even though we were all different grades, they all kind of know each other. It's so nice (and easy for us!) for everyone to get together in one place!
It took Evelyn a couple days to recover from all the excitement of Christmas, but I don't think anyone noticed her getting too upset! For the most part, she's such a happy, roll-with-anything baby!
