Today marks week 5. Further along than when I lost my 1st pregnancy, and half way to when I lost my 2nd. So I have a reason to be optomistic! Since my second loss, we've learned that I have a genetic mutation called MTHFR. No, I don't know off the top of my head what it stands for, and for someone who is as much a nerd as I am, I really don't have any idea what it is, other than it means I have a higher risk for miscarriages. Because of this mutation, I'm trying this vitamin regimen to see if it will help. My CNM says it works well, but then there's no research verifying that. I'm a research kinda girl. I think I'm being realistic. I am truly excited about being pregnant and about the possibility of having a baby.
7 pills... every night I take 7 pills. And that's before the prn that every pregnant woman knows is practically a necessity! ;) There's a prenatal, B6, B12, Folic Acid, and a baby Aspirin. That's alot of pills. And I've gotten to where it takes less than a cup of water! Ha!

Overall I've felt pretty good. Sunday was pretty bad, but not horrible. I felt nauseated all day long. I didn't want to eat because thinking about food made me even more nauseated. I ate a ton because for 10 minutes after I ate, I felt fine, and then that feeling came back, so I ate some more. I had to stop that otherwise I'd be huge by the end of this pregnancy! But for the most part, I'll feel nauseated for a little bit, then fine the rest of the day. I really do forget I'm pregnant most of the time. Easy to do when I'm so early! I've not been as tired as I was last week, I think starting the B6 helped with that.
I've gotten more done the last week that I normally do. It helped that our DSL modem broke, so I had the choice to either use dial-up, or not use the internet at all. I chose the latter. And while I did spend quite alot of time on the couch watching TV, I also finished a quilt top and backing (by finished, I mean everything except cut out fabric and sew the 1st step!), sewed a new pillowcase for my body pillow, planted some plants, made some bread, knit a good deal of the baby sweater I'm working on, and done the puzzles in the paper. All of them. :)
Back to work tomorrow. I work 5 of the next 7 days. Somewhere in there is July 4th (working :( ) and my birthday (not working!! :) ) and then after that stretch, going out of town with my parents and my sweetheart. I was really looking forward to this trip thanks to our daytrip to my favorite amusement park with the best rollercoasters. Now I can't ride rollercoasters. :( And my mom was looking forward to wine tastings and touring vineyards. Oh well, I'm sure we'll have a great time anyways!
