Just Say No... to Bottles!

Our big excitement this week (not in a good way!) has been Evelyn's complete refusal of bottles.  It's almost funny how much she fights taking a bottle.  We've tried to give her a bottle a day from the beginning.  I slacked off for a couple weeks, and when we started up again, NO WAY!  Evelyn screams and fights tooth and nail.  But then she realizes that she likes what's in the bottle, so she drinks quietly for a minute or two.  Then it's like she realizes this isn't what she really wants, so she starts fighting again.  A few times it's taken an hour for her to drink 2 ounces.  Silly girl.

My mom kept Evelyn one day this week so that I could do some stuff at work.  And Evelyn fought her over the bottle, so mom went and bought another one.  :)  She still fought, but not as bad.  Last night, Carl tried the new bottle, and she only fought for a couple minutes, then took it almost no problem.  Thank goodness!  I was starting to get worried!  I go back to work tomorrow, so for all but her nighttime feeding, it's Evelyn, Carl & the bottle for 2 days!  Here's hoping they'll be alright!

We've had fun the past couple of weeks.  Evelyn is such a happy baby 99% of the time!  It's so funny to see her reactions to new people and places.  She just wants to take it all in!  We leave the end of next week for Canada.  Evelyn's doing much better in the carseat, as long as she's fed with a dry diaper!  I think she'll do fine!  I can't wait to see all my family & celebrate with my cousin!!!
