Now that Evelyn's not so hungry, the sleep training is going much better! She gets a bottle at bedtime, but has been nursing for a few minutes too to help her get to sleep. Those few minutes have been getting shorter and shorter as the week has gone on. Tonight, she didn't need to nurse! Woo hoo! I'm not expecting that to become the norm, or even for it to work well tonight (she could very well wake up soon wanting to nurse!), but its a step in the right direction! I was so excited to lay her down awake, and watch her drift off to sleep!
Evelyn's big excitement this week has been the addition of some yummy food! Haha. We started her on some rice cereal, and she either loves it, or wants nothing to do with it. Luckily, she hasn't pitched a fit about eating yet, she just sometimes lets us know gently that she's not interested! It seems that every other night she wants to eat well. We've also been giving her a bit of mashed up solids, pretty much whatever we're eating. So far she's had bananas, peaches, carrots & a french fry (I'm sure my pediatrician will love that one!). She's only gotten a few spoonfuls of each (or in the case of the french fry, whatever wasn't mushed up in her hands!), but she's seemed to like the flavors a bit more than the rice cereal!
"Okay mom, I'm all done!"
The past couple of weeks have seemed like I don't have much free time to get things done around the house. When Miss E wasn't sleeping well, I (re-)learned the importance of taking a nap when she did. Thank goodness she still napped well during the day!! Besides that, I've been sewing Evelyn's baptism gown. I haven't sewn clothes since high school, so to start out with a fancy dress has been alot of work! But I'm loving how it's coming together, and I can't wait for her to wear it! I'll post pictures once its done!
My sweet girl!
Evelyn has been growing like a weed! It doesn't seem like that long ago I got out some of the 6 months clothes, and now those fit her the best! Some 3 month outfits still fit, but they are tight and show off her little Buddha belly! She's sitting up well with help, and can hold her head up excellently! We've started using the high chair more instead of the bouncy seat or bumbo, and she loves it! I love being able to wheel her around too so she can see what I'm doing!
