Thanksgiving?! But it's June! Well, in our house, we will have a very happy Thanksgiving (or week after Thankgiving)! Evelyn is going to be a big sister! We found out this morning that she will have a little brother! We're all very excited (although Evelyn doesn't quite know what to be excited about!).
I am due November 22 (Thanksgiving Day!), so I'm 4 months along. I had a rough and tiring first trimester, but now, aside from getting tired fairly easily, I'm feeling pretty good! Evelyn knows there's a baby in mom's tummy, but that just mean that dad has one too, right? It's very funny, she'll pull up my shirt at the most inopportune time to say hi to my belly button and kiss it. Silly girl!
Little man cooperated very well for the ultrasound this morning. The tech said that he was in the perfect position so that she could see everything she needed to without prodding me too much. And when she was done and needed to look at his spine, he flipped right over. And when she was done, flipped back over. I wonder if this means he will continue to be easy and cooperative. ;) We'll see about that! I had pretty strong feelings it was a boy, so I'm excited to be right again. :)

Evelyn is doing great. She is learning more and more every day. She says a ton of words, that of course only I can under stand. It's very nice to communicate with her, and I think that it helps with her temper tantrums. I'm sure those will only get worse, but if I can get her to focus on me, I can usually get her to tell me what is wrong or what she needs. It's nice now, and hopefully we'll continue that communication. ;)

She is so much fun. She just about runs everywhere and amazingly doesn't fall too often, but her knees are pretty scraped up. She's climbing every where and is mastering climbing up on chairs. I'm thankful she hasn't tried the table next. ;) She tried to climb on the patio table one day and I think we scared her away from doing that for a while.

Evelyn loves to read. First thing Evelyn does when she gets up is read books. She loves picture books, especially ones with animals, trucks, or tractors, and can point to and say about 75% of the things in the books. If it gets really quiet in the house, she's either reading or making a huge mess. :) I prefer when she's reading!

Evelyn is getting to be a big help around the house too. She will do small tasks I ask her to like putting her toys in the basket, stacking up her books. Yesterday she took it upon herself to help empty the dishwasher. She picked out all the spoons and forks, and put them in the correct drawer. I was very proud! She's so cute! She wants to do whatever I am doing, whether its vacuuming, folding laundry, or cooking. Tonight when we were getting dinner ready, she pulled out a bunch of bowls, stole some lemon juice out of the fridge, poured it in the bowl and started stirring. She can't wait until she can help me more in the kitchen!

We are having so much fun at this age. There are definitely moments, but they truly are few and far between. She's such a happy, easy going girl and I can't wait to see her as a big sister!

Congratulations you guys!!!! We are so excited for you. Can't wait to meet your little guy. Let us know if you need a nap and want us to play with Evelyn for you.
