A Weekend at the Beach

A few weeks ago, we took a long weekend trip to Myrtle Beach.  We had a great time!  We got there late Thursday afternoon, and decided to hit the beach as soon as we got unpacked.  What a great idea!  That was the best beach time we had - warm but not hot, no crazy sun in our eyes, and the beach was nearly empty!  Perfect!

Evelyn had a wonderful time.  Last time we went to the ocean, she wasn't so sure about things.  She was scared of the waves, didn't really like the sand getting her dirty.  This time, she RAN into the ocean and had the best time jumping waves and playing in the sand!

Evelyn loved playing in the ocean, and kept wanting to go further out than we would let her.  The currents got pretty strong quickly, so we only brought Evelyn in a little bit.  I know once she's steadier on her feet and a bit bigger, we're going to have a daredevil on our hands!

Other than the pool & the ocean, we enjoyed a bit of Myrtle Beach too.  One night we went out and walked along the boardwalk.  It's nice just to walk and check things out.  We got some ice cream and watched the local "attractions".  Haha.  The people watching is most entertaining sometimes!

So excited to be driving!
Our last night, we went to the little amusement park, Family Kingdom.  My cousins love to go, but we wondered if Evelyn would be old enough to enjoy it.  That question was answered quickly - YES!  There weren't a ton of rides she could ride, but the ones she could she loved.  There were a couple she rode on her own, and some she rode with us.  She had a great time, and even enjoyed part of our funnel cake.  Now I REALLY can't wait to take her to the State Fair!  :)

So Happy!
We had to check out of condo fairly early, so we decided to drive back roads and take the ferry up to the Aquarium at Fort Fisher.  Evelyn enjoyed being on the ferry and watching all the goings on.

Evelyn really enjoyed the Aquarium.  It was the perfect size for her - just enough fun stuff and it didn't take too long.  She loved looking at the fish.  This big crocodile didn't scare her at all!  She was so interested in him!

Overall we had a great trip!  I'm a little bummed that it was such a short trip AND we won't be able to go back any time soon (that whole having a baby in 2 months thing...), but hopefully next spring/summer, Evelyn will love it just the same and teach her brother how much fun it is!
