Lots of NEWs

So much for keeping up with the blog!  Haha!!  The week of my last post, Carl and I went to look at a house and liked it so much that we made an offer on it!  We closed a month later, moved in 2 weeks after that, and now we've been in our new house for 3 weeks!  It has been alot of work and some "good" stress, and we have alot of work in front of us, but I'm so happy to have moved!

Our new house is on the other side of the county, still a Raleigh address, but closer to Garner.  That also means closer to family.  Yippee!!  10 minutes to my parents, grandparents, and cousins.  20 minutes to work for me.  It is a bit longer to work for Carl, but he claims he doesn't mind.  We are a little further from Carl's parents than we were, but it's really only about a 10-15 minute drive longer.  We have a HUUUUUGE yard.  Most of the back is wooded and we haven't even begun to discover it, but we have a nice lot with a much bigger house.  We have the kids' bedrooms, a play room, and an office upstairs, and our bedroom and the living areas downstairs.  It has been very nice to have so much space!  I'm not the best housekeeper, so it is nice to be able to keep the kids' messes upstairs!  :)

The kids have been doing great.  Evelyn has been excited to move.  She hasn't seemed upset once.  She does ask about the old house occasionally, but it's random stuff.  Last night she asked to go to the old house to see her bathtub.  She has been doing so well here.  She loves going out into the (fenced) backyard and just running around with Dozer.  I love that I can stay inside and just watch her!

Avery is moving around quite a bit more.  Still not walking, but cruising like a champ.  He almost lets go a ton, but as soon as he realizes it either grabs back on or sits down.  It's so fun to watch him develop.  He loves that we have stairs in this house and crawls up them constantly.  He likes playing on the swing set outside.  He can pretty much climb the ladder into the tree house - I only need to help him once or twice.  it's crazy that he can climb up there before he can walk!  He's starting to talk a bit more.  Mostly babbling, but the occasional purposeful "mama!" or "dada!" Although, I'm saying his first official word was "Dozer".  Go figure!  He woke up from his nap one day, looked out the window and said "Do-der!"  He's still so silly and happy most of the time.  He's my easy going guy!

Evelyn has been going to preschool 2 days a week.  She loves it and asks to go just about every day!  She talks a mile a minute.  She has really started with the questions lately.  Most of the time it's cute & funny, but it does get tiring.  :)  She's so funny though - "Mom, come closer.  What is this?" "Mom, come see this.  What is that?"  I ask her alot of questions too, but lately she's been turning them around, "No mom, you tell me!"  She loves playing outside, and has recently mastered pedaling her tricycle.  It might soon be time for a big-girl bike!

Anyways, things are good, life is good, but always busy!
