Evelyn is quite the daddy's girl. Yea, in theory mom has everything she could ever want or need, but it's daddy that makes her happy! Needless to say, the past 2 days with daddy at work have not been the easiest! Yesterday was great! Evelyn slept well and ate right on schedule. It was a great day! Today, she made up for it!
She didn't want to sleep this morning, so we got up earlier than mommy would have liked. Then she wanted to eat every hour!! So that gave me just enough time to change her diaper and fill up my water cup before she was crying to eat again. And that also meant no time for naps! Even with me holding her, Baby Girl did not want to nap for more than 20 minutes at a time!! Needless to say, it was a long day. It really didn't bother me too much until the last hour, when she still wasn't happy even after feeding! There is nothing more pitiful than that look that says "Why can't you fix it, Mommy?" Luckily, when daddy got home, he was ready for snuggle time! Miss Evelyn still didn't quiet down for a while, but finally she fell asleep in daddy's arms. And when I said "I'm not making dinner tonight!", Carl and Evelyn went to pick us up some dinner. And that's how, after attempting multiple times the last 2 days, I finally have time to type out a blog post! :)

Overall, Evelyn is still a good baby! She fusses alot during the day, but she'll usually nap alright, or at least be content while we're holding her. (And no, the swaddling hasn't helped - :( She doesn't mind it, but she's still wide awake!) She keeps getting bigger! Its so neat to see her change every day! Her belly button stump fell off the other night, so last night we gave her her first bath in the bath tub. She's not to sure about it! She did great with the sponge baths, but actually sitting in water is another story! At least she didn't poop in the bath tub! Haha!
Today, she has been alot more receptive of the "stuff" around her. I notice her really looking at things more. She loves the mobiles above her bassinet and swing. And she really calms down (at least for a minute) when there's music playing! It's nice to see her comforted by some of this stuff! Tummy time is still not much fun, but I'm sure once she gets stronger she'll like it more!
Evelyn finally got to meet her Grandpa Lindahl the other night. He had been sick since they got home from Hawaii, and we didn't want to risk Miss E catching anything, so unfortunately we held off for a while. Grandpa and Evelyn weren't too sure about each other at first, but I think they got along pretty well, even if E did cry the last hour they were here!
