Babies are Busy!!

We have been busy this week!! For not doing much other than eating and sleeping, Miss Evelyn sure takes up alot of time! We've gotten into a bit of a routine, which is very nice! She really only takes 2 naps a day, about 2 hours each. Other than that she's wide awake! Depending on the day, she's awake and happy, looking around, "playing" (aka staring at the toys mommy puts in my face!), reading, taking walks. But other days she's just not happy and fusses for whatever reason. I spend alot of my day walking laps around the house rocking her. Don't dare sit down, or she will get MAD! It's funny! She spends a bit of time in the Moby or Snugli carriers, but when she's sleepy, she just wants to be held.

Carl's birthday was last week. My parents came over and we made dinner and had cake and ice cream. It was a nice, easy night in! And Grandma is already spoiling Evelyn, giving her cake and ice cream at 3 weeks old!!

The swing has become a life saver in the last couple of weeks! Evelyn does not want to sleep in her bassinet or crib during nap time. Plus, we're trying not to have her nap in the bassinet so we have a distinct difference between daytime and nighttime! The swing has been it. At first, she hated the swing, so I wasn't putting her in there very often. One day, I put her in there just so I could do something really quick, and when I came back, she was passed out! So the swing is her napping spot now. Unless she's really wide awake, if I put her in the swing, she sleeps. It's wonderful. Especially at 5am when she wants to be up for the day!

Evelyn really is getting so much bigger so quickly! She's outgrown nearly all of her newborn size clothes already! I washed them and packed them up this weekend and got out the 3 month clothes. Some of them are a little big, but most fit her pretty well! Hopefully this size will last a little longer than 3 weeks! This weekend my mom is having a "Meet Evelyn" shower for us, so that our friends and family who haven't yet can meet Miss E. I'm very excited, and I really hope that Evelyn will have a good day, and be the happy baby she's been for me most of the time!
