My how things have changed!

A year ago, Carl and I were on our way across the Atlantic for an amazing almost 3 week European vacation.

Today, we have a 6 week old and my days are filled with crying, poop, and housework.  And I wouldn't change a thing!  Well, maybe that housework part!

Evelyn's doing very well!  She's growing like a weed (I should know - my garden's full of them!!).  Carl thinks her cheeks get chubbier overnight!  Hahaha.  Speaking of overnight, Evelyn has been sleeping longer every night!  Not quite all night yet, but thats mostly because we're trying to move back her bedtime.  Last night she slept from 8::30-3, then 3:30 to 6:30.  The getting up at 6:30 is a little rough for me, but I'm getting used to it.  And I try to make it a point to get a nap in the afternoon.  Our afternoon naps are actually my favorite part of the day.  I lay Evelyn in the bed with me, and we both sleep pretty well.  I love being able to open my eyes and see her right there!  She does some pretty cute things in her sleep.  Which, of course she stops as soon as my camera's ready to go!  I did get a picture of her "Riverdancing" last night.  When I went in to get her, her arms were still tightly swaddled, but the blanket was everywhere and she was just a kicking away!

Evelyn's also "talking" alot more.  She makes all kinds of cute sounds when we're playing with her!  I love it!  She loves laying on her blanket and playing with us.  She still hates tummy time, but it's a bit better on the boppy.

Overall, things are great!  I love being able to tell what she needs and fixing it.  It does make it difficult for me when she just cries to cry - I feel so bad that I can't make it better for her!  Oh well, that's life!
