This weekend we got most of the nursery put together. Carl's been painting (by hand, with a brush. I think he's crazy...) the baby's room in the evenings, bits and pieces here and there. He finished up painting earlier in the week, so we were ready to move in this weekend! Woo hoo! Not only did we move the baby's stuff, we moved some stuff from Evelyn's room into his, and from the dining room into Evelyn's room. So big moves this weekend! Haha!

Baby's Truck Room
Evelyn is loving the baby's room! When I first picked out fabrics and designs, I was leaning towards not having a theme, just bright colors. Once I started picking details out, it became clear that trucks and transportation and construction would be our theme. It's cute, and it works, so I'm happy! She was at the park with our neighbors yesterday when Carl and I were putting up the big decal, and once she got home, she went right into the baby's room and goes "WOAH!". We also got down some of the baby stuff - swing, bouncy seat, rock & play - and she's enjoying playing with her baby dolls in there. This morning when she woke up, she ran right to the nursery and, again, "WOAH!". I think she thinks this new room is for her too! But she tells us it's for baby when we ask her. We'll see what she thinks when baby is actually here!

Dresser/Changing table with construction pictures
The last thing we have to move is the rocker from Evelyn's room to the baby's room. I'm restaining and recovering a chair for her, so we'll wait til that's done to take the chair out of her room. She did great moving the dresser (probably because we replaced it with her toy shelves!), but I'm worried that she won't like us moving her chair out. I've made a big deal about the "new" chair being Evelyn's, and whenever I'm working on it, she says "Mama paint! En's!" ("En" is how she has been referring to herself lately and it is so freaking cute! It's usually accompanied by pointing to her cheek!) Hopefully she will be very excited about the new chair in her room!

... and by bedtime!
Things are going well otherwise. I read a news article yesterday that featured a girl due in 3 weeks that was going to run a half marathon today. Like run. 13 miles. Just because. 8 1/2 months pregnant. Made me feel kind of lazy for wishing I had a hover-round at Target. Oh well! I have my good days and not so good days. I'm realizing I need to take it easy and take a break during the day. If I work all through Evelyn's nap time, I am pretty exhausted and uncomfortable after dinner. It's better for me just to relax than to stress about getting things done. Luckily, my to-do list is getting shorter and shorter! :)
