Evelyn is crazy about trains. Any time she sees something about trains, it's "Choo choo!" along with the signs for trains - the "real" sign, and Evelyn's own sign. She has never watched a whole episode of Thomas the Tank Engine, but she gets excited about Thomas any time she sees him! Luckily, we got most of what we wanted to do this weekend done yesterday, so today we decided to take it easy today. Evelyn and I had a lazy morning while Carl took care of some things at work. When he got home, we decided to check out a model train show at the fair grounds. We told Evelyn we were going to see trains when we were getting ready, and she must have said trains or choo choo 100 times in the car!

As soon as we walked in, there was Thomas. Evelyn was a little "star struck" and didn't want to go right up to it at first. Then we managed to get her on Thomas for a picture. She was so excited, even though she waited until I put the camera down to smile. :)

There were lots of vendors selling model trains, and Evelyn just wanted to touch EVERYTHING. That didn't go over so well. :) Luckily, the whole back of the building was model trains set up. Evelyn loved watching the trains and checking out the different scenes people had made. She kept asking to go back to different areas. One group had a big garden railroad set up with a bit bigger trains. It was on the floor, versus the other ones that were up on tables. Evelyn stood in front of the garden railroad and watched for a while. She had so much fun!

It was a fun day with our little family and a nice little break from working so hard around the house lately!
